Vestax V100 Review

2

MusicUp until now my jewel was lugged around in an old record-bag. Although the VCI-100 is really sturdyI hated seeing the bag banging against everything while I was drunk. Stopping to drink was one option, but luckily Vestax came up with a better although more expensive one. They made 3 special bags for their V-series-controllers, which only differ in terms of their size.

I was disappointed after the first look, because you can’t even store an USB-cable inside it, but this is because the bag originally was only sold together with a backpack.
There is a foam-coat on both inner sides. That’s not only good because now I can throw my VCI-100 out of the window, but it also damps the vibrations which occur in a bass-heavy environment or my bedroom. That means that the VCI-platters don’t Auto-DJ anymore for you.

Another nice thing is that if the bag is opened and turned the controller may stand in a 20° angle to it’s surface, which is a nice position to DJ with it.

The only drawback is the tight handle. Even my small hand would die off after 20 minutes carrying it. It’s price is high as well, but you’re paying for superb quality and always keep in mind, that the controller itself wasn’t cheap either so it needs a proper protection.

Both are connected to a notebook via USB-cables.
I use Ableton and Traktor in my setups, so yeah, I could play along something with the keyboard.
