Elevator DJ-Flohmarkt 2009
MusicThe only DJ-flea-market in Germany takes ca. 2 miles away from my new home place, so I pulled my duty by visting it.
Most sale booths sold only vinyl, which didn’t interest me since I don’t like carrying them around.
The equipment which has been offered was either fuddy-duddy, broken or overpriced.
The day was saved by manufacturers who placed equipment at the disposal.
Finally I could lay my hands on one of those EKS-Otus. However my first steps with it felt rather uncomfortable. The resolution of the big jog-wheels wasn’t great. It was like scratching on a VCI-100.
Some field worker of Wacom advised me to buy this toy for only 1500€.
Elevator held an auction around 12 o’clock. Most things were garbage. The interesting offers were 1 Numark ICDX which was sold for 180€ (street-price 350€) plus a Pioneer DJM-600 for 460€ (street-price 600€)
Afterwards showed the DMC-2005-world champion DJ Pro Zeiko off his mad skills which can be seen in the following video (+ him explaining how he does some stuff)
I didn’t want to leave the scene with empty hands. A dawdler offered a Vestax DJT-400 for around 100€, which was quite cheap.
A good investment which will pay off when I’m 30 and needn’t pay doctor bills for a bended spine.
